Kozhikode: Markaz announces the year 2023 as the launching year of its dream project Markaz Knowledge City. Kerala Chief Minister Mr Pinarayi Vijayan inaugurated the celebration of a year-long program, designed under the theme of ‘Civilize’, that includes twenty distinctive programs that are going to be held this year. In his inaugural speech, Chief Minister applauded Knowledge City’s vision which is based on inclusiveness and diversity and praised the team working behind this project.
2,000 crore projects have been planned in the city on more than 100 acres of land. This project is unique in the country with its integrated township model that includes education, culture, housing, commerce and health. Currently, many educational institutions including a Medical College, Law College, Global School, Technology Centre, Management Institute, Finishing School, Library, Research Centre, and Queensland are running properly in the city.
Markaz institutions are known for their educational missions across the country that aims to progress the country in all fields without regional and religious differences. In its tradition of nearly half a century, Markaz Knowledge City is its latest developmental intervention that envisions an ideal urban culture, integrating core values of religion and the nation. Markaz’s intervention is always pervasive that includes a wide range of fields such as education, health and public service in different parts of the country. This broad vision is integrated practically into the making of this integrated township. Apart from giving education thereby ensuring social empowerment, the city opens up an opportunity for cultural exchange and shaping an ideal lifestyle. The city has become a venue for many national and international events, especially for the event of Climate Summit of Global Universities last year.
Markaz founder and general secretary Kantapuram AP Abubakar Musliar presided over the function. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan kicked off the year-long launching-year celebrations. Kerala Transport Minister Adv. Antony Raju announced the 'Malaibar Climate Action Plan' as part of the Climate Change Action Summit. Kerala Ports Minister Ahmed Devarkovil inaugurated the 'Regional Development Project' and Tourism Minister Mohammad Riaz launched the Knowledge City as a destination point for tourism. Linto Joseph MLA initiated 'Digital Space Launching' and Dr MK Muneer MLA inaugurated Knowledge City Startup Project. T Siddique MLA, Syed Ali Bafaqi Thangal, Syed Ibrahim Khalilul Bukhari, Sachin Dev MLA, C Muhammad Faizi, Dr. AP Abdul Hakeem Azhari, Adv. Tanveer Umar, Dr. Abdussalam and others attended.
